Review the architecture, not a promise

This page answers the first questions a school, library, government office, employer, or regulated team should ask before linking to a browser utility. It describes CreatorValet’s current public implementation. It is not a security certification, data-processing agreement, accessibility certification, or substitute for your own review.

Where does a selected file go?

A local file selected in a CreatorValet tool is read and processed inside that browser tab. It is not sent to CreatorValet. Loading a page still sends an ordinary GET request for HTML, styles, scripts, fonts, and any declared engine the tool needs; the host can record standard request logs described on the privacy page.

What must an institution sign?

The public site requires no account, subscription, click-through terms, or contract to open and use a tool. Because selected files are not disclosed to CreatorValet, the site does not offer a processor agreement for those local files. Your institution may still require vendor, security, privacy, records, legal, or procurement review before use.

Does it require installation or admin rights?

No installation, browser extension, account, or administrator privilege is required. The tools do require JavaScript and current browser file APIs. Locked-down policies can block local file access, downloads, blob previews, WebAssembly, or media codecs, so test the representative workflow in the managed browser you actually deploy.

Is it accessible?

The implementation targets WCAG 2.2 AA and is tested with automated and manual checks, but it has not received an independent full-site conformance audit. Visual canvas editors do not all have equivalent nonvisual workflows. Read the dated accessibility statement and known limitations.

The host count has a narrow meaning: it does not execute JavaScript and cannot inventory runtime requests. Read the dated Converter Privacy Index and its method before citing it. The complete live tool registry is also available as machine-readable JSON.

Network, offline use, and public URLs

CreatorValet is not installed as an offline app and does not register a service worker. A cold visit needs a network connection to load the page and any tool engine that is not already cached. Once a local-file tool and its dependencies have loaded, many workflows continue when the browser is put offline; test that exact route rather than assuming it.

Some tools work with a public URL instead of a private file. For example, a public-image downloader must contact the named image host after the user asks it to. Those tool pages disclose the destination and action. A client runtime means the request comes directly from the browser; it does not mean every workflow is network-free.

What CreatorValet does not provide

  • No organization accounts, administrative console, audit trail, shared workspace, API, or scheduled automation.
  • No hosted document history or recovery after the tab closes.
  • No guarantee that a very large job will fit within a managed device’s browser memory.
  • No OCR for scanned documents and no automatic accessibility remediation of generated files.
  • No service-level agreement, contractual support channel, security certification, or independent accessibility certification.

Cite the boundary with the date

CreatorValet is an independent web utility project at creatorvalet.com. Its local-file tools process selected files in the user’s browser and do not transmit those files to CreatorValet. The public site requires no account or installation. Review the linked method, privacy, and accessibility pages for limits and changes.
