File editing and optimizing tools and guides
Compress, crop, trim, sign and resize files, or pull out what is inside them.
Compress files
- Audio compressor: make the file smallerRe-encode MP3, WAV, FLAC, Ogg or AAC to a smaller MP3 at a bitrate you choose, and see the measured bytes before and after.
- Compress GIF to a size you pickGive it the limit you are up against. It finds the settings, and tells you which ones it had to spend.
- Compress PDF filesRe-encode the JPEG pictures inside your PDF, then keep the result only if the whole file is smaller. Runs in your browser. No upload, no account.
- Compress image to an exact sizeName the size you need. It works backwards to get there, and shows you the arithmetic.
- Compress video to a measured file sizeSet a byte ceiling, see the bitrate math, and download only after the browser measures the finished MP4.
Edit files
- Audio silence remover with local MP3 exportRemove long quiet sections from WAV or MP3, preview the cut, and download a real MP3 — without uploading the recording.
- Audio trimmer for precise local cutsKeep or remove an exact section, check it against the waveform, and download a new MP3 without sending the recording anywhere.
- Bulk rename filesBuild a rename recipe, inspect every new name, and download byte-identical copies. Your originals stay untouched.
- Resize and crop images in bulkApply one exact pixel rule, review only the risky crops, and receive a byte-checked ZIP without uploading the image batch.
- Circle crop an imageThe circle is the easy part. What happens to the corners is the real question.
- Crop PDF pagesTrim the edges by dragging or by typing exact numbers — and decide whether what you cut is hidden or gone. Runs in your browser, no upload, no account.
- Delete pages from PDFClick the pages you want gone and take back the rest. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Make a square imageTwo ways to a square, and the cost of each one before you pick.
- Merge PDF filesMany documents, one file, in the order you set. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Password protect PDF filesPut a password on a PDF, and see which lock you actually set. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Unlock PDF filesTake the password off a PDF you can already open. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Resize image dimensionsSize and crop in either order, in one pass, so nothing is resampled twice.
- Rotate PDFTurn the pages that lie sideways and keep the turn in the file. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Screenshot beautifierFrame one screenshot or a whole series with local padding, rounded corners, a solid or gradient background, a shadow and your own text, at an exact output size and never cropped or stretched.
- Sign PDF filesDraw, type or drop in your signature, put it where it belongs, and take the file back. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Split PDF pagesOne document in, the pieces you asked for out. Runs in your browser — no upload, no account.
- Shift subtitle timing onlineMove every cue by an exact offset or correct steady drift with two anchors. Preview the result; your subtitle file stays on this device.
- SVG OptimizerOptimize a static SVG locally in one click, see it before and after, and download it only when the browser pixels still match.
- Make an image background transparentRemove a flat background color or detect a photo’s subject on this device, correct the edges, and export a full-size transparent PNG.
- Change video aspect ratio by cropping or paddingPick 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:5 or your own numbers, preview the new frame, then crop it or pad it with a color or a blurred copy of the video. Nothing is uploaded.
- Crop video by drawing the rectangle you want to keepDrag a rectangle over the picture, or type the four numbers, and keep exactly that part of every frame. Nothing is uploaded.
- Trim video online without uploading itCut a video to the exact frames you choose, check the written duration on the receipt, and keep the whole job on this device.
Create & extract files
- AI File ViewerVerify and preview the PDF-compatible content in an Illustrator AI file, then export a selected PNG or the complete PDF.
- Audio waveform generator for SVG and PNGTurn the real amplitude in an audio file into a still waveform, then export sharp SVG and high-resolution PNG — entirely in this tab.
- BlurHash generator and decoderEncode an image locally, inspect the exact component grid, then decode the hash at dimensions you control.
- Check image dimensionsWidth, height and aspect ratio — the numbers a viewer actually shows.
- Extract images from Word documentsInventory every embedded image in a modern Word package, keep its exact bytes, and continue into a shared crop and resize workbench without uploading again.
- Microphone testSee whether your microphone is working, how loud it actually is, and what it sounds like played back — without installing anything or sending the audio anywhere.
- PSD ViewerInspect a PSD or PSB and preview its embedded composite before exporting a flattened PNG, JPG, or PDF.
- Video frame extractor for full-resolution stillsScrub to the moment, enter its timestamp, and save the source frame as PNG or JPG — decoded in this tab.
- Browser audio recorderRecord from your microphone with no time limit, no upload and no account — then hear the exact file before you download it.
- Extract images from websitePick the images off any page you have open, straight from your browser. No upload, no account.
- ZIP file viewer and extractorSee every path and size in a ZIP archive, then download only the file you choose. No upload, no account.
How-to guides
Editing, compressing and extracting, without an upload
This section is for the files you want to keep in the same format but change: a PDF with a page too many, a video that runs long, a photo that is too heavy to email, a document that needs a signature. Converting a file into a different format is a separate job with its own section, file converter tools, and the two link to each other where a task crosses the line.
The tools are grouped by what they do to the file. Compression makes images, GIFs, PDFs, audio and video smaller while keeping them in the format they already have. Editing covers cropping, trimming, rotating, resizing, splitting, merging, signing and password protection. The last group creates new files from scratch, such as a recording or a waveform, or extracts what is already inside one, such as the images in a Word document, the frames of a video or the contents of a ZIP archive.
All of it happens on your own device. Your file is read by this browser tab and written back out by it, and nothing is uploaded, queued or stored anywhere else. Large files are warned about before the work starts rather than refused, because memory on your machine, not an arbitrary limit on ours, is what decides how big a job can be.
