What a YouTube video ID finder can prove
Every YouTube upload receives one 11-character ID. A normal watch link stores it after
v=; a short share link puts it directly after youtu.be/; and
Shorts, embed, and live links put the same value in their path. This page recognizes those
five forms and returns the ID without contacting YouTube.
The ID is a stable search key, not a status report. It does not reveal a title, channel, privacy setting, deletion reason, or whether the media still exists. If a player is unavailable, keep its exact message and date beside the ID. The deleted YouTube video archive checklist explains how to distinguish a saved page, metadata, thumbnail, captions, and actual media.
Why the result shows five source URLs
Web archives index exact URLs. A capture under a watch address does not guarantee a capture under the short-share, Shorts, embed, or live address, even when every one contains the same video ID. The result therefore constructs all five canonical forms and gives each one a separate Wayback Machine lookup. It never says that a generated address was originally shared or captured.
An archive calendar can contain a later “Video unavailable” page rather than the old video page. Open captures from before the status changed and record the exact timestamp. A player shell is not proof that video bytes were archived; verify any lawful download by size, duration, and a SHA-256 checksum.
Video ID, channel ID, and Content ID are different
This tool finds a video ID only. A channel ID identifies a creator channel and normally
begins with UC. YouTube Content ID is a rights-management system, not a string
hidden in an ordinary watch URL. Matching eleven characters here does not grant access,
prove ownership, or authorize reuse.
For a public video whose image is still available, the YouTube thumbnail downloader checks the actual image responses and reports their measured dimensions. For a public video whose captions you can lawfully access, the YouTube transcript downloader keeps transcript collection separate from ID parsing.
Nothing is checked until you open a result link
The parser and URL builder run entirely in this browser tab. The page makes no request that contains the pasted value and stores no history after you leave. Opening a source URL sends the ID to YouTube; opening a Wayback link sends the constructed source URL to the Internet Archive. Those are deliberate navigations, not background checks.
If a copied link contains percent escapes or tracking parameters you need to inspect before sharing, use URL decode. The ID finder ignores unrelated query parameters and rebuilds clean canonical forms from only the validated video ID.
Questions
Where is the YouTube video ID in a URL?
A video ID is the 11-character value after v= in a watch URL. It is the first path segment in a youtu.be link and follows /shorts/, /embed/, or /live/ in those URL forms. Paste any of those forms here and the page extracts the same ID locally.
Can a YouTube video ID tell me whether the video was deleted or private?
No. The ID identifies one upload, but its characters do not encode availability, title, owner, privacy, or removal reason. Keep the exact error message and date separately. This tool derives URL forms; it does not claim that any form still opens.
Why does the result include five YouTube URL forms?
A watch, short-share, Shorts, embed, or live URL can carry the same ID, while a web archive may have indexed one exact address and not another. The five links are deterministic alternatives to check, not evidence that an archive captured them.
Is the pasted YouTube URL sent anywhere?
No. Parsing, URL construction, and copying happen inside this tab. CreatorValet does not request YouTube, the Wayback Machine, or another archive unless you deliberately open one of the result links.
